The goal is to rescue the Angolan championship title that has eluded them for 12 years, as well as take the team to the group stage of the African Champions League, after the second place in the last edition of Girabola.

Alexandre Santos, 44, with a degree in sports science and a master's degree in high performance training with a specialty in soccer, has coached Alverca for the past two seasons, after spells with Real Massamá and the under-23 teams of Estoril Praia and Sporting.

Before that, he was part of some technical teams led by José Peseiro in clubs like FC Porto, Sporting de Braga, Al Wahda, Al Sharjah and Al-Ahly, as well as the national team of Saudi Arabia.

He also worked as assistant coach for Caen, Estoril Praia, Estrela da Amadora and Vitória de Setúbal.

For his part, 'Bodunha' leaves the command of Petro for lack of qualifications to lead the team in the African 'Champions', heading, in the coming days, to Barcelona, where, for six months, will attend training in view of that licensing.
