Lunda Sul says Sérgio Traguil's indiscipline forced the coach out

The president of Clube Desportivo da Lunda Sul, Miguel da Silva, told the Lusa agency on Sunday that acts of indiscipline by Portuguese coach Sérgio Traguil forced the club not to renew, by mutual agreement, the contract.

Miguel Silva denies that it was Sérgio Traguil who abandoned the command of the team, as the coach recently announced to Agência Lusa.

"We didn't reach an agreement on the coach's continuity due to lack of respect. Sérgio lacked respect for the management of the team. It all happened the day before the game that qualified Clube Desportivo da Lunda Sul for the first division. On the eve of the trip to the team. Bié province, we called the coach, at a meeting, to inform that, under the guidance of the 'sponsor', the Endiama Group, and as a result of the covid-19 pandemic, we would have to reduce the number of travelers on the plane that would carry the team," mentioned.

The manager added: "Thus, we told him that only 35 people would travel, including 16 athletes, part of the technical team, members of the club's management, as well as members of the club's sponsoring company. To our astonishment, the coach was furious. he shouted, stood up and turned his back on us, leaving the direction of the club in the meeting room, even in the presence of members of the sponsoring company."

On the other hand, Miguel Silva acknowledged that the club has a debt of one month for agreeing with the coach, as well as with some players, a liability that guarantees to be resolved.

"We do have this unresolved debt, but unfortunately it hasn't been resolved before due to payroll problems. Think about whether, due to a month's salary delay, is this reason enough for a coach to leave the team? He didn't leave, we decided to finish everything, by mutual agreement due to the disrespect towards the team's management", reaffirmed the manager.

He explained that the contract signed with the Portuguese coach, as well as with the players, was for only three months, a period that lasted for the qualifying zone, according to the sponsor's decision.

The contracts were signed in April and ended on the last day of July, six days after the game that qualified the team to the first division.

He also denied that the club is administratively disorganized, as mentioned by Traguil.

He also guaranteed that after the lack of respect that he said he had been targeted, the relationship between Traguil and the management, even before the decisive game for qualification to the first division, was no longer favorable.

Clube Desportivo da Lunda Sul, coached by the Portuguese Sergio Traguil, qualified for the first time to play in the first division of national football, on 25 July, the result of a 1-0 victory over Sporting do Bié, in game of the C series of the qualifying zone.
