Bornito de Sousa participates in the investiture ceremony of the President of Zambia

Vice President Bornito de Sousa will travel this Monday to Zambia, to participate in the investiture ceremony of the new president of that country, Hakainde Hichilema.

"Vice President of the Republic Bornito de Sousa travels this Monday to Luzaka, Republic of Zambia, where he will participate Tuesday, representing the President of the Republic, João Manuel Gonçalves Lourenço, in the investiture ceremony of the new President-elect of the Republic of Zambia, Hakainde Hichilema," a statement sent to VerAngola said.

Hakainde Hichilema, candidate for the United Party for National Development, was elected president on August 12, having defeated Edgar Lungu, of the Patriotic Front.

"After the confirmation of the electoral results, the Angolan Head of State addressed a message of congratulations to Hakainde Hichilema, in which he expressed his conviction that Angola and Zambia will continue to work to intensify cooperation actions of mutual interest, which contribute to the strengthening of the historic relations of friendship between the two peoples and nations," the statement added.
