Located on Avenida Deolinda Rodrigues, Nova Lactiangol has an installed production capacity of about 30 million liters of UHT (ultra high temperature) milk per year.
According to José Luís de Oliveira, president of the company's Board of Directors, the factory is undergoing a "major" restructuring process, with investments of about five million dollars, in an initial phase.
The manual system became automatic and the equipment used for ultra-purification, homogenization and quality control were modernized, writes Angop.
About production levels, the official made it known that in 2019 production exceeded nine million liters, but that in 2020 the numbers dropped to around eight million due to covid-19.
However, the production figures for this year are ambitious: it is estimated that the figure will reach about 10 million liters of milk.
In an interview to Angop, the president of the Board of Nova Lactiangol made it known that in the middle of the pandemic the company launched whole milk. He admitted that it was well received and that now this product represents about 20 to 30 percent of the company's sales.
The responsible also made it known that this year, Nova Lactiangol intends to relaunch a line of butters. As for the production of yogurts, this should only start up next year, he added.
Nova Lactiangol was bought in 2018 by the Webcor Group, from the Democratic Republic of Congo, for about 30 million dollars.
