The presidential order of João Lourenço determines the opening of a public tender for the award of a contract worth 24.6 million dollars for the construction of 456 social houses and technical infrastructures, as well as the respective supervision contract, estimated at around 739 thousand dollars.

The diploma does not indicate which families will be relocated, nor the criteria for their selection.
Torrential rains in Luanda in April caused 14 deaths and left 8000 people homeless. More recently, in late July, nearly 500 families lost their homes due to a fire in Povoado, a slum near the bay of Luanda.
The Minister of Public Works and Territorial Planning will be responsible for the tender procedures, while the Minister of Finance will ensure the necessary financial resources for the execution of the contracts and the inscription of the projects in the Public Investment Program.
