BPC continues to lead the list of financial institutions with the most complaints

In the second quarter of this year, the list of financial institutions with the most complaints continues to be led by Banco de Poupança e Crédito (BPC). In the said period, the National Bank of Angola (BNA) received 163 complaints against the BPC.

Among the main issues that were the subject of complaints against the BPC were demand deposit accounts, transfers and movements in ATMs.

According to the data - which are part of a list of banks disseminated by the BNA's Financial Conduct Department and which includes a total of 420 complaints against the various banking institutions - second place in the table is occupied by Banco Sol, with 45 complaints, followed by Millennium Atlântico, with 43 complaints.

According to the list on the BNA website, the most complained about issues overall were current accounts and transfers, which "bring together close to 41 percent of total complaints submitted to the BNA by consumers of financial products and services.

Comparing the second quarter of this year with the same period last year, we conclude that 42 fewer complaints were registered. In the second quarter of 2021, the BNA recorded a total of 420 complaints, while in the same period of 2020 it recorded a total of 462 complaints.

The BNA adds that during the second quarter of this year, "the month of April recorded more complaints, representing a weight of 36.9 percent of the total volume" of complaints recorded in the reference period.
