In a statement sent to VerAngola, Standard Bank states that "among the families benefited is that of the 13 year old boy Luís Armando, who has been supported since June 2020 by the Heroes of Blue, and later received other aid".
The note explains that the physiotherapist and volunteer of the Edna de Alegria project, after getting to know the story of Luís Armando, appealed through social networks for more people to join this cause and help.
"The wave of solidarity has spread, creating better conditions of habitability for the family of three siblings, abandoned by their parents," the note says, adding that Edna de Alegria decided to take advantage of the ceremony of handing over the new house to sponsor her family.
Jelson Domingos Kambuiso, head of the Heroes of Blue project, stressed that it was important that institutions continue to support the most vulnerable, regardless of the situation caused by the pandemic.
"This is a difficult period and together we will overcome it. We have redefined our model for action, we have reinforced the individual protection measures in line with the guidelines of the health authorities to respond to the current challenges. These missions have been possible with the support of partners such as Firat Lda, Maffy Cerais, Padaria Viana Sol, Farmácia Mosel, S.A. and Os Desocupados. The latter carried out a solidarity live at Instagram, which allowed the collection of various aids for Luís' family", he said.
The Heroes of Blue project was created two years ago as a result of the support provided by Standard Bank to hospitals and medical organisations that were already carrying out health actions in the communities.
