Accompanied by Ivan do Prado, Secretary of State for Industry and Trade, Milton Reis made it known that the visit served to evaluate the project, which last July received funding of 10.8 billion kwanzas under Prodesi.

He visited the plant infrastructure, passing through the laboratory, quality control room, engineering and the production and storage area.

Milton Reis admitted that the funding is intended to strengthen the production capacity of the plant: "It was important to see what was done on the ground and how we can continue to finance initiatives of this kind to reduce imports of essential goods, increasing domestic production," he said.

"Producing milk in Angola is still a great challenge, and under Prodesi we will continue to encourage national production," he added.

According to a Prodesi Facebook publication, the money served to improve infrastructure, change some equipment that was already obsolete, create new production lines and also guarantee the supply of raw materials.

At the time, Nestlé Angola's managing director, Vinod Nair, reported that the unit is focused on dairy production. Quoted by Angop, he said that the plant consists of 29 workers who help to produce eight thousand tonnes of dairy products per month.
