Country registers 61 new infectees and two deaths by covid-19

The country registered 61 new infections with the new coronavirus and two deaths in the last 24 hours, adding a total of 2283 positive cases and 102 deaths, the Secretary of State for Public Health informed this Tuesday.

Franco Mufinda mentioned that the deaths are of a 20-year-old woman and a 38-year-old man, both Angolans.

The positive cases, 44 males and 17 females, aged between 1 and 74 years, are distributed 10 throughout the municipality of Soyo, Zaire province, two in Benguela province, one in Cabinda province and the rest in Luanda.

In the last 24 hours, 34 patients have recovered, adding a cumulative of 911 recovered and 1270 active, of which four people are in critical condition, under invasive mechanical ventilation, 17 severe, 34 moderate, 40 mild and 1175 asymptomatic.

The laboratory processed, in the last 24 hours, 854 samples, 61 of which were positive, with the cumulative of 54,228 samples processed to date by molecular biology, of which 2283 were positive.

The ruler said that this Tuesday 266 employees of TV Zimbo were tested on the basis of serology, and 26 were reactive with the IGG biomarker.

The testing of the 10,000 staff of the National Police, which began last Thursday, was completed, of which 85 were reactive to IGM, and subsequent measures were taken, said Franco Mufinda.

The covid-19 pandemic has already caused at least 813,000 deaths and infected more than 23.6 million people in 196 countries and territories, according to a balance sheet made by the French agency AFP.

The disease is transmitted by a new coronavirus detected at the end of December 2019 in Wuhan, a city in central China.

After Europe succeeded China as the center of the pandemic in February, the American continent is now the one with the most confirmed cases and the most deaths.
