FPSO Dália do Bloco 17 reached historical production value

The Floating Production, Storage and Transfer Unit (FPSO) Dália, located in Block 17, reached, last July, the historical value of one billion barrels of oil, since the beginning of its production in 2006.

According to a press release from the National Oil, Gas and Hydrocarbons Agency (ANGP), along with production, which remains one of the most consistent, the FSPO Dalia has so far recorded no work incident or 'lost time injury (LTI)'.

"Since these are complex 'deep offshore' operations, it means that the Block 17 contractor group has always been committed to the safety and health of its workers in the long term, as well as to the quality and efficiency of its operation," reads the document.

Dália, which has Total R&P Angola as its operator, including the oil companies Equinor, ExxonMobil, BP and Sonangol P&P, has 84 wells and a current daily production of around 142 thousand barrels of oil, having registered in April 2010 its highest daily production record: 288,872 barrels.

"We are truly pleased with the 'Golden Block 17', which we will continue to explore safely until 2045, thanks to the extension of the license recently granted to us by the National Petroleum, Gas and Biofuels Agency," said the director general of Total E&P Angola, Olivier Jouny, quoted in the press release.

Olivier Jouny also highlighted the "well achieved team work, with good results, involving both onshore and offshore professionals, which is why we are truly proud of this achievement and this milestone in the national industry".

For his part, ANGP President, Paulino Jerónimo, stressed that the number achieved "confirms the vitality of the Angolan oil industry" and highlighted that "milestones such as this, achieved by the groups of contractors operating in Angola, demonstrate that the sector continues to work towards a successful future".

The accumulated production of Block 17 so far is about three billion barrels of oil, the note highlights.
