The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, Joel Leonardo, highlighted the investment made by the State to increase the number of professionals in the field in the country.

In total, Angola has 578 judicial magistrates, 210 of whom are women.

The official stressed, quoted by Angop, that the objective is to increase this number even more, betting on training. In this case, the country has had the contribution of Portuguese magistrates and technicians, as well as advising judges of the Supreme Court.

Despite highlighting the number of judge judges installed this Thursday, which he noted as considerable considering the history of Angolan power, the judge reaffirmed the need for the judicial appeals brought to the Supreme Court to be resolved within the legal deadlines. This will only happen if the courts can count on competent judges and court officials.

"The lawsuits must not remain long months or years stopped at the offices of the higher courts," he said.

The representative of the installed judge judges, Mariana Calei, said that this act represents another brick in the national contemporary justice building.

"The oath taken by each of us, more than a legal formality, is a certainty, because the judge is not appointed to do favors with justice, but to judge according to the law," he said, cited by the same publication.
