"The acquisition of the new Boeing 787-10s represents a decisive moment for TAAG. It's not just about purchasing aircraft. It's about redefining our operational, financial, and commercial capabilities," said Clóvis Rosa, Chairman of TAAG's Board of Directors, quoted in a statement from the airline.
Clóvis Rosa believes this modernization of TAAG will translate into better financial results, greater commercial autonomy, and will contribute to a "more efficient and sustainable" company.
The national airline considers this investment "a milestone in TAAG's transformation strategy, with a direct impact on fleet modernization, improved operational efficiency, and the company's financial sustainability."
"With new-generation aircraft, TAAG will be in a position to open new routes, increase frequencies to strategic destinations, and elevate the passenger experience to international standards, reinforcing its position as a leading airline in Africa," the statement emphasized.
According to TAAG, the new fleet will provide significant operational benefits, such as greater fuel economy, lower maintenance costs, improved environmental performance, and technical reliability, "fundamental elements for ensuring more rigorous financial management and less dependence on government support."
Recall that EXIM approved 297 million dollars in financing for TAAG to acquire Boeing 787-10 Dreamliners. According to a statement from the flag carrier, this financing also covers the acquisition of engines from General Electric Aerospace.
