"On Tuesday, the President of the Republic will visit another of the three new provinces created by the country's recent political-administrative division: the province of Cuando, the second after Moxico Leste," said Luís Fernando, the President's Secretary for Institutional Communications and Press Affairs.
Thus, the head of state left the capital on Tuesday morning for the town of Mavinga, the seat of the new province of Cuando.
On this trip, João Lourenço is accompanied by "a delegation of several ministers and other central administration officials to provide a comprehensive overview of the many things that remain to be done to establish the new territorial unit."
"The program to be implemented in Mavinga basically involves contact with the space where the future city of Mavinga, capital of Cuando, will be built, with all the infrastructure a province requires, from the government palace to the entire array of equipment required for a city with the characteristics of a provincial headquarters," said Luís Fernando, quoted in a video released by CIPRA and that VerAngola had access to.
According to the official, the head of state will also "consult with local figures," as well as "hold a meeting with the government of the new province."
João Lourenço is expected to return to Luanda later this Tuesday.
