"We are thrilled to announce the signing of left winger Edy Maieco from Macclesfield Football Club in England," the club announced in a Facebook post which VerAngola had access to.

According to Wiliete, the contract between the player and the club is valid for two years.

"For Wiliete's challenges, Edy Maieco will wear the colors of our club until 2027," the post reads.

After nine seasons in England, Awká's son will make his debut in the national championship, known as Girabola. In addition to his debut on home soil, according to Angop, Edy Maieco will also step onto the stage of the African Champions League, following Wiliete's unprecedented qualification.

It should be noted that the 2024/25 Girabola was won by Petro de Luanda, with Wiliete finishing second.
