In the morning, the Minister visited the Sol Hemodialysis Center (CHS), inspecting the condition of the infrastructure and observing treatment rooms, the ward, and technical areas.
The Minister of Health stated that it is "essential" to ensure that patients requiring hemodialysis "have regular, safe, and humane access" to this type of service. She also emphasized the need for "trained professionals and adequate equipment" for the treatment of kidney-related diseases.
Sílvia Lutucuta had direct contact with hemodialysis patients, healthcare professionals, and the technical team managing the facility, listening to their concerns and suggestions.
Dozens of patients are treated weekly at the CHS, which is considered essential in supporting patients with chronic kidney problems, significantly helping to relieve the strain on central hospital infrastructure.
The visit, according to a statement cited by Jornal de Angola, is part of the ministry's commitment to frequently monitor long-term care units in order to continuously improve the quality of services provided in the country's healthcare sector.
According to the ministry, this visit is also part of the strategy to strengthen the national nephrology care network, prioritizing the gradual decentralization of hemodialysis services and improving coverage across the region.
In addition to the Sol Hemodialysis Center, the minister also visited the Prenda Hospital. According to a statement from the health unit itself, this "informative visit" also focused on "patients with chronic kidney failure undergoing outpatient dialysis treatment."
