Port of Cabinda wins 3rd edition of Expo-Cabinda, which generated revenue of over 1.7 billion

The Port of Cabinda was the big winner of the 3rd edition of Expo-Cabinda, which took place between July 11th and 14th and generated revenue of more than 1.7 billion kwanzas.

The provincial government of Cabinda, in a statement to which VerAngola had access, announced that Expo-Cabinda 2025 generated an estimated turnover of more than 1.7 billion kwanzas, "establishing itself as the largest showcase of opportunities and the affirmation of the economic, cultural, and social potential of the province of Cabinda."

"During the fair, approximately 12,000 visitors visited the venue, viewing exhibits and signing agreements in areas such as oil, machinery and equipment, agriculture, insurance, banking, renewable energy, tourism, education, and industry," the statement said.

Furthermore, the fair featured approximately 300 exhibitors, "with representation from Cabinda's 10 municipalities, nine ministries, five provinces (Luanda, Huíla, Benguela, Malanje, and Zaire), and seven foreign countries (Democratic Republic of the Congo, Congo Brazzaville, Brazil, Portugal, Canada, China, and Belgium)."

Another highlight of the fair was the gala awards ceremony, recognizing the various exhibitors who "stood out in areas such as agriculture, industry, logistics, and brand activation."

The Port of Cabinda was the big winner of this edition of the expo. At the awards gala, held last Sunday, "the highlight of the evening was the Port of Cabinda, which won the 'Expo-Cabinda 2025 Grand Prize,'" and "also received the title of 'Best Stand,'" the provincial government reported in another statement to which VerAngola had access.

The list of winners also includes Sebastião Mayuya (awarded in the 'Os Pés na Terra' project category) and Cooperativa Kuvata, which received the award for best agricultural participation.

"In the financial sector, Banco Keve stood out, winning the award for best participation in banking and insurance," the statement reads, adding that Mota-Engil won in the machinery and equipment category, "while Chevron was recognized for its excellence in the oil industry" and the Amorim Group won the award for best participation in the manufacturing industry.

"In the transportation and logistics segment, Secil Marítima was recognized for its exemplary performance. Apolónia Complexus shone, receiving the award for best participation in the hotel and restaurant sector. Among the public entities, the Provincial Secretariat of Industry, Oil and Gas stood out as the best participant," the statement reads.

Among the winners is Cabship, which won the award for best brand activation.

"The Democratic Republic of the Congo was awarded for its outstanding international participation," while in the "livestock and fishing category, Fazenda Apolónia was recognized for the quality and innovation presented."

Also worthy of note was the municipality of Cacongo, which received the award for best participation.

"In recognition of her commitment and dedication demonstrated in organizing this edition of Expo-Cabinda 2025, the jury awarded an honorable mention to provincial governor Suzana Abreu," the statement continued.

Speaking at the fair's awards ceremony, the governor of Cabinda appealed to exhibiting companies "to transform the opportunities offered by Expo-Cabinda into a concrete presence in the province, through the installation of production units and the generation of local jobs, contributing to Cabinda's sustainable development."

Quoted in the statement, the provincial governor emphasized that "the fair is a clear demonstration of the province's ability to position itself as a growth hub for the region."
