The national air carrier justified the increase, in a statement sent to VerAngola, as part of its commercial strategy, aiming to reinforce its participation in the regional African air cargo market. In this way, TAAG has doubled its regular cargo services, now offering two weekly frequencies to Lagos (LOS) in Nigeria, Brazzaville (BZV) in the Republic of Congo, and Johannesburg (JNB) in South Africa.
"TAAG thus continues to capitalize on the freighter it has incorporated into its fleet, model B737-800BCF (Boeing Converted Freighter), with capacity
to transport up to 24 tons of cargo, accommodating up to 10 pallets in the 96x125 inch format", says the carrier.
Regarding the operation's service levels, TAAG will make more than 100 tons of cargo capacity available each week, on the Luanda/Johannesburg/Luanda connection and more than 45 tons, on the Luanda-Lagos-Brazzaville-Luanda route. .
The schedule of regular cargo flights was updated as follows: the Luanda-Lagos-Brazzaville-Luanda route now has two weekly frequencies, departing on Tuesday and Thursday and the Luanda-Joanesburgo-Luanda route It now also has two weekly flights, departing on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
"The cargo segment is a strategic market niche for TAAG and has boosted the promotion of the Luanda hub, and the New Luanda International Airport, Dr. António Agostinho Neto, as a reference in the region's import/export channels" , says the flag airline.
