State earns more than 14 billion with privatization of four of the 39 hotels in the IU, IKA and Bina chains

More than 14 billion kwanzas is how much the State will receive from the privatization of four of the 39 hotels in the IU, IKA and Bina chains. These are hotels located in the provinces of Namibe, Huíla, Luanda and Lunda Norte, which were awarded to the companies Endiama, Viva Luanda and Umbiserv.

The State Assets and Participation Management Institute (IGAPE) informed, in a statement to which VerAngola had access, that the first wave of the procedure to privatize this hotel chain is finished.

"Within the scope of the Privatization Program (Propriv) 2023-2026, the State Institute of Asset and Participation Management, as the state entity responsible for executing the respective program, informs that the first wave of the procedure for privatization in the form of sale of assets of the IU, IKA and Bina hotel chain within the scope of public tender no. 03/24", reads the note.

Thus, after completing all the stages foreseen in the documents and "based on the envisaged award criteria, four hotel units were awarded".

The units in question are Hotel IU Dundo – Torre A, Hotel IU Moçâmedes – Torre A, Hotel IU Lubango – Torre A and Hotel IU Talatona – Torre A.

According to IGAPE, the unit in Dundo was awarded to Endiama, while the hotel in Moçâmedes was handed over to Viva Luanda.

The other two units, in Lubango and Talatona, were granted to Umbiserv.

The institute says that with this award, the State will allocate more than 14 billion kwanzas.

"The awarded proposals, whose payment guarantees were provided, will represent a financial contribution to the State, amounting to a global value of 14,148,850,000.00 kwanzas", reads the statement.

It should be remembered that the competition was launched on May 16th, having completed, according to IGAPE, "all the necessary administrative procedures and in accordance with the respective parts and the Basic Law on Privatizations".
