According to Angop, the Angolan finished fourth in the simple skiff category, with a time of 8:01.63, which guaranteed him passage to the 'F' final, a consolation stage that only serves to classify him in the world ranking.
Thus, André Matias will return to the scene on Friday, to compete in the aforementioned final, which will take place at the Île-de-France Nautical Stadium.
It should be noted that, in the repechage of the 2000 metres individual, André Matias finished among the top two qualifiers in his category, while on Saturday, in the first qualifying round, the Angolan came in seventh place, completing the race in seven minutes and 58 seconds, writes Angop.
This is not the first time that André Matias has participated in an Olympic competition, having already participated in the London (2012) and Rio de Janeiro (2016) Olympic Games.
The Paris 2024 Olympic Games began on July 26 and will run until August 11 in France.
