According to a statement from CIPRA, to which VerAngola had access, the conversation was dominated by the state of cooperation relations between Angola and the USA.

Furthermore, the two officials also talked about the situation in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

"With the head of North American diplomacy, the security situation in the East of the Democratic Republic of Congo was also assessed", the note reads.

It is recalled that in January of this year, Blinken paid a visit to Angola, having, at the time, met with João Lourenço. Furthermore, the US Secretary of State also visited Africell's headquarters in Luanda.

It should be noted that, in 1993, the two countries established official diplomatic relations, with the energy sector being the focal point of economic relations between the two countries.

Among other aspects, the USA has also turned its attention to the Lobito Corridor, having already invested millions of dollars in that infrastructure.

Recently, in June this year, the USA launched, in Luanda, a support program for political parties, worth 10 million dollars, aimed at seven African countries, including Angola.
