According to a statement from CFL, passenger services will be suspended from 16 June, “to allow scheduled maintenance work to be carried out on the airport branch line, using heavy equipment, which is essential to improving the efficiency and reliability of train circulation”.
The situation is expected to remain in place until September, the company reports.
Last month, the Ministry of Transport decided to extend the deadline for the completion of the transfer of international passenger flights from AIAAN, scheduled for June, until 30 September.
The government justified the measure with the “current operational and social situation, promoting a coordinated, safe transition in line with international standards, without compromising the interests of passengers and operators”.
