Ramos-Horta begins his visit to Angola this Monday

The President of Timor-Leste, José Ramos-Horta, begins a three-day visit to Angola this Monday, after a visit to Mozambique, to discuss economic cooperation, cultural exchange and regional security and strengthen bilateral relations.

In Luanda, the Timorese head of state will be received with military honors and meet with his counterpart, João Lourenço, after visiting the Dr. António Agostinho Neto Memorial where he will lay a wreath of flowers in the sarcophagus of the first President of Angola .

In the afternoon, Ramos-Horta will attend an extraordinary plenary session at the National Assembly, where he will be received by the president, Carolina Cerqueira, before leaving for a courtesy meeting with the vice-president, Esperança da Costa.

On Tuesday, the program continues with visits to the Academy of Police Sciences and the Venâncio de Moura Diplomatic Academy, where you will attend a lecture.

The presidential visit ends on Wednesday with the official farewell between the two heads of state, at the Presidential Palace, returning that same day to Timor-Leste.

According to the Timorese Presidency, these state visits to Angola and Mozambique "highlight Timor-Leste's commitment to strengthening its international relations and fostering cooperation within the CPLP".
