João Lourenço swore in the newly appointed secretaries and called for a strong commitment to the “development of school sports”

The President of the Republic swore in the newly appointed Secretaries of State, and at the ceremony, which took place this Monday, he highlighted the fact that it was necessary to invest more in school sports, considering that Angola “will gain a lot” from it.

On the occasion, the head of state, quoted by Angop, ended up defending collaboration between the education and higher education sectors in order to promote school sports and added: Angola "will gain a lot if we invest heavily in the development of school sports".

In his speech, João Lourenço said it was necessary to "take care of youth more and more", as well as the "sport that ends up being" related.

"We have to take care of youth more and more, as well as the sport that ends up being interconnected", he stated.

Regarding the Secretary of State for the Protection of Strategic Objectives – a position that did not exist in the Government until then – the President of the Republic explained that his creation was due to the fact that it was necessary to take care of the different strategic objectives throughout the country, writes Angop.

According to a statement from the Presidency of the Republic, to which VerAngola had access, with this act, started functions Lúcio Gonçalves Amaral, as Secretary of State for the Protection of Strategic Objectives, Danila Patrícia de Almeida Bragança, as Secretary of State for Youth, and Paulo Alexandre Madeira Rodrigues da Silva, as Secretary of State for Sports.

The ceremony took place in the Noble Hall of the Presidential Palace and was attended by the vice-president of the Republic, Esperança da Costa, as well as state ministers, ministers, among others.
