From 29 July to 9 August, a prostate cancer screening campaign will be held
Carried out by the Ministry of Health, the campaign will take place in several hospitals: Cacuaco General Hospital 'Heróis de Kifangondo'; Viana General Hospital 'Bispo Emílio de Carvalho'; Bengo General Hospital 'Reverendo Guilherme Pereira Inglês'; 'Ervanário Luís Sambo' General Hospital and the 'Dr. António Agostinho Neto' Central Hospital.
The screening campaign will allow specialists to assess men aged 40 or over, using laboratory and imaging tests, with a view to early diagnosis and referral of cases for the necessary treatment.
The screening is part of a broader program to introduce highly complex treatment of this disease through robotic surgery, in collaboration with a team of specialized doctors, as well as being part of the technical support provided by the Advent Health Celebration Hospital, Global Robotics Institute and Nicholson Center in the United States of America.
