The accident occurred on Wednesday, on the Huambo/Chipipa road, with ten people dying at the scene and another on the way to hospital. Three injured people were taken to the Huambo General Hospital, but one died on Thursday.
According to the spokesperson for the Huambo General Hospital, Kalenda Kalivala, three victims were admitted to the hospital, but one died on Thursday morning, after undergoing surgery.
"Unfortunately, the patient who was admitted to the operating room yesterday [Wednesday] died at 6:10 am and we were left with only two patients, one with head trauma and a fractured femur, and the other with a fractured collarbone, who is stable," the doctor said in statements to the Angolan Public Television (TPA).
According to the spokesperson for the Huambo General Hospital, the patient with head trauma still requires care and is being monitored by specialists.
The spokesman for the National Police Provincial Command in Huambo, sub-inspector Edgar Sampengo, quoted by Angop, said that the accident involved a car that was operating as a taxi, carrying 14 people.
