The 39th edition of FILDA, which takes place between the 23rd and 28th of July, will bring together more than 1300 companies from 18 countries, under the motto "Food Security and International Partnership, the Binomial of Economic Diversification", also intending to give a special focus to the internationalization of the Angola brand and the areas of agriculture, forestry, fishing and marine resources, according to a statement from the organization.
At FILDA's Portuguese Pavilion, which takes place in the Special Economic Zone, there will be 20 companies from different sectors, including the production of industrial equipment, agri-food, information and communication technologies, the mold and packaging industry.
According to the organization, at least 1300 Angolan companies and 254 from 18 countries in Africa, Europe, America and Asia, from 30 sectors, will be present.
In addition to the exhibition, FILDA hosts the "Angola – Portugal" Economic Forum, which will be attended by Portuguese Prime Minister Luís Montenegro, and the Ministers of State for Economic Coordination, José de Lima Massano, and Industry and Commerce, Rui Miguêns de Oliveira.
Challenges and opportunities of the agro-industrial sector in Angola, the importance of logistics chains and certification and the Global Gateway initiative are the themes of the Forum, where participate those responsible for groups such as Nova Agrolider, Fazenda Girassol, Refriango, Carrinho and Quinta dos Jugais and entities linked to banking and international financial institutions.
During the event, two memoranda of understanding will be signed between the Industrial Association of Angola and the Business Confederation of Portugal and the Institute of Industrial Development and Technological Innovation of Angola, University of Algarve and the municipality of Vila Real de Santo António.
There will also be a forum dedicated to "Macau and Portuguese-speaking countries" at FILDA, as well as conferences on licensing commercial and industrial activities and tourism.
The organization highlights the relevance of contacts between businesspeople in the current moment of the Angolan economy, remembering that last year, "the concession of the Lobito Corridor, a railway that crosses the main productive areas of the country and connects the copper and cobalt mines of the Democratic Republic from Congo and Zambia to the port of Lobito, in the Atlantic, has once again positioned Angola as a highly strategic logistical part of international trade".
Last year, FILDA received 75 thousand visitors and brought together exhibitors from ten countries.
