The business volume achieved, according to a statement from the municipal administration of Uíge, to which VerAngola had access, exceeded all expectations.
"The accounts of the largest business exchange in the North of the country exceed the expectations of the municipal administration of Uíge, the organization and all exhibitors", says the statement.
According to Carlos Calas, president of the Board of Directors (PCA) of the companies C-Calas Angola (co-organizer of the event), the turnover achieved this year increased by around 80 million compared to the 2023 edition, in which around 300 million kwanzas were moved.
The official also said that more than 1000 people visited the fair. "More than 1000 visitors visited the fair, generating temporary employment for 250, 550 indirect jobs, 520 tons of various products", he said, quoted in the statement.
In this edition of the expo, 250 exhibitors participated – from 16 municipalities in Uíge and the provinces of Luanda, Cabinda, Cuanza Norte, Malanje, Namibe, Zaire and Huambo –, including FAS, one of the highlights of the edition after winning the biggest prize of Expo-Uíge.
"FAS - Local Development Institute, won the biggest prize at Expo-Uíge 2024, at the gala that ended the festivities of the city of Uíge's 107th anniversary", reads another statement from the municipal administration of Uíge, which VerAngola had access.
The diploma was received by Helena Manuel, representing the provincial management of FAS, who "considered it to be the result of teamwork, promising more work to honor the deserved distinction".
José Raimundo Almeida Teca, municipal administrator of Uíge, considered the expo "as a challenge overcome, highlighting that the failures recorded in the organization should invite all participants to work to do their best in the next editions".
