Angola beats Senegal and heads the CAN group. Leadership is disputed this Wednesday against the DRC

This Tuesday, the national senior men's handball team added another victory in the group stage of the African Cup of Nations (CAN) of the modality. The “hard-fought victory” against Senegal gave Angola the first place in the table, whose leadership is disputed this Wednesday with the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).


In the second game of the group stage, the national team faced its Senegalese counterpart, having won by 32-25.

The match against Senegal was not easy. The Senegalese prevailed and gave the national team a fight, which went out to halftime with a 15-goal draw.

However, the national team managed to turn the score around, beating their opponent by seven points.

The "hard-fought victory" put Angola in the lead of group D, with four points. In second place is the DRC, also with four points.

The third and fourth places are occupied by Senegal and Zambia, both with zero points.

Angola returns to the court this Wednesday, where it will dispute the leadership of the group with the DRC.

CAN is taking place in Egypt from the 11th to the 18th of July.
