Interclube and Bravos do Maquis withdraw from the African Confederation Cup

Interclube and Bravos do Maquis had announced the withdrawal of the African Confederation Cup, due to logistical problems to support the expenses inherent to the second largest African club competition.

After Desportivo da Huila withdrew, for the same reasons a week ago, the president of Interclube, Alexandre Canelas, said that the annual budget is established only for the expenses inherent to internal competitions.

For his part, the vice president of Bravos do Maquis, José Barranca Dembo, said that the expenses of the African competition are part of the budget foreseen for the 2022/23 season.

The next edition of Girabola starts on the 27th of August and the objective is to classify the team among the top five, after sixth place in the last campaign.
