In response to Lusa, the company's official source explained that these numbers "are within expectations" for this phase of the operation, undertaken by the Angolan company, chosen by the Cape Verdean government for a six-month emergency license for the concession of the public inter-island passenger air transport service.

According to the same information, from May 17th to July 15th, the company, which is operating with an ATR72-600, transported more than 30,000 passengers, 12,000 of which in the first 15 days of this month, in a demand that has been coming to grow, explained by some recovery of tourism and the vacation period of Cape Verdean emigrants.

In the first 15 days of July, according to the airline's response, the overall occupancy rate for flights operated by BestFly was 75 percent. The company adds that since the beginning of the operation, flights to the island of São Vicente and São Filipe, on the island of Fogo, have had an occupancy rate of 90 percent and to Sal more than 80 percent.

The company started in May with a single crew and did not operate flights on Tuesdays. However, in light of demand, a second crew was added about three weeks ago, making flights every day, the source explained.

The operation will be reinforced with a second ATR72-600 aircraft in August, BestFly reported.

In the first two weeks of July alone, the company carried out 211 flights between the islands of Cape Verde – about 105 flights a week, double the start of the operation – and by the end of the month it expects to reach 500 flights, already having one. captain and two Cape Verdean flight attendants.

The company also expects the arrival in the archipelago, at the end of this month, of a third crew, in the final stage of training, allowing for an increase in flights from August, to "respond to demand".

The BestFly group is the result of a family-owned company created in Angola and also operates in geographies such as Dubai, Republic of Congo or Portugal.
