The Bruno Fernando Foundation, supported by the NBA and the players' association is a project whose mission, through sports, is to promote the social integration of children, teenagers, young people and their families who are in vulnerable situations.
Education, health, and the improvement of the quality of life of the neediest communities are other concerns on which the foundation will focus.
The Angolan athlete said that he inherited the solidary side of his deceased mother, who, in life, never showed solidarity with the needy.
"My mother was always very supportive and always tried to help the needy, so I inherited the solidarity side. Today, because of the position I am in, I feel that I can help Angolan children who live in terrible situations and, as a consequence, their dreams die very early, so I want to use my platform to help children" considered the Atalanta Hawks player.
He intends to extend the project to the whole Angolan territory, promoting social inclusion through education and sports.
Despite the financial support from the NBA and players association, Bruno Fernando Foundation is looking for other national and international partners in order to help the initiative.
Questioned by Lusa Agency about the Portuguese athlete Neemias Barbosa Queta, 22 years old, who, in the early hours of this Friday morning tries the unprecedented entrance to the NBA, through the 'draft', the Angolan athlete refused to make any comment, as well as on other subjects, such as the situation of the Angolan basketball.
