Turkish President visits Angola in October

The Turkish president, Recep Erdogan, who received on Tuesday in Ankara his Angolan counterpart, João Lourenço, will visit Angola in October, according to information made available on the official page of the Presidency of Angola on Facebook.

João Lourenço and Recep Erdogan signed ten bilateral agreements, including one on air links between the two countries, which will allow the respective flag carriers, Turkish Airlines and TAAG, to connect Luanda and Istanbul.

Other relevant agreements concluded in Ankara refer to the suppression of visas in service, diplomatic and special passports and the reciprocal protection of investments.

The Angolan presidency also reports the opening of a Turkish credit line through Eximbank "to boost bilateral economic relations.

The Jornal de Angola said that this is a line of financing for the execution of public infrastructure projects contracted by the Angolan State.

The first day of João Lourenço's State visit began with a tribute to the founding hero of modern Turkey, Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, who ruled in the early twentieth century of State, having the head of the Angolan executive laid a wreath next to the sarcophagus of the founder of the Republic of Turkey and its first President.
