João Lourenço visits Turkey with agreement for air connection among the objectives

The President of the Republic will begin a state visit to Turkey on Tuesday, at the invitation of his counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan, carrying in his portfolio several agreements, including the air connection between the two countries.

The Head of State is leaving Luanda this Monday, at the head of a delegation that includes several ministers and is scheduled to arrive in the Turkish capital, Ankara, in the afternoon, according to a press release issued by the President.

In Ankara, João Lourenço will meet Erdogan on Tuesday afternoon, while the reciprocal ministerial delegations will analyze key issues in the relationship between Angola and Turkey.

Following these actions, several agreements will be signed in the field of transport (air connection between the two countries), military cooperation, trade, economy and mineral resources.

They will also review consular and diplomatic aspects, namely the elimination of visas in service, diplomatic and special passports.

The President's mission to Turkey is also marked by the holding of an economic business forum on Wednesday, in which dozens of businessmen from both countries will participate.

"At this forum, the Angolan statesman will address the Turkish business community, to underscore Angola's economic potential and the multiple initiatives aimed at progressively improving the business environment," the statement added.

The regional director of Turkish Airlines, Alp Yavuzenser, told Radio Nacional de Angola this Monday that the Turkish airline will operate twice a week on the Ankara-Luanda-Ankara route, when the air connection agreement with a view to increase the volume of investments and trade between the two countries.
