IMEX Group invests 4.5 million dollars in appliance factory in Angola

The IMEX Group will invest, by the end of this year, 4.5 million dollars in a home appliances factory in Angola. The information was advanced this Tuesday, on the sidelines of the inauguration of another BEKO home appliances store, at Shopping Fortaleza, in Luanda.

"By the end of this year, with a total investment of 4,500,000 dollars, the brand guarantees to open its first home appliance factory in Angola," a statement sent to VerAngola reads.

In statements to the press, the group's director general, Ramzi El Houchaimi, explained that the factory will be built in two phases. The first, according to Angop, is budgeted at three million dollars and will be used to assemble stoves, coolers and air conditioners.

The rest of the money to be invested will be applied in the second phase of the project, which includes the implementation of the assembly line of televisions. This phase should be implemented next year.

Regarding the new store, inaugurated this Tuesday, the statement to which VerAngola had access indicates that it has enabled the creation of 15 direct jobs for young Angolans.

Ramzi El Houchaimi, quoted in the statement, explained that "this expansion is part of the brand's growth strategy, and will allow to expand the capacity of product distribution nationwide, as well as to increase the number of retail brands that provide BEKO products to various Angolan consumers.

The statement also reported that the brand in March 2019, began in Angola the "distribution of home appliances with an investment budgeted at $1,000,000."

It currently has 15 stores in the country, but the goal is to expand: the brand "palneia inaugurate seven new units, with the inclusion of this showroom that is first in this new concept in the sub-Saharan region," the statement adds.
