Over 400 families in the commune village of Chiaca have been without light for a year

For a year now, the commune village of Chiaca, municipality of Chinjenje in Huambo, has been without light. The village was left in the dark last year after two electricity generating sets broke down, and to this day it still has no access to electricity supplies.

This breakdown left 403 families without access to electricity, revealed a local government source. Cited by Angop, the same source also said that the street lighting network was also affected by this breakdown.

The revelation that more than 400 families have been waiting for the electricity to be restored this Thursday, during the visit of Lotti Nolika, governor of Huambo, to the town. The purpose of the visit was to find out what the main problems are in that area, which is home to 14,385 inhabitants.

Besides the lack of light, there was a complaint that there is a shortage of fuel to feed the local administration's generator, preventing the normal functioning of the institution.

Lotti Nolika made it known that one of her main concerns is the rehabilitation of the link between the communal headquarters and the municipal town of Chinjenje, so that the movement of people becomes safer.

The town must receive changes in infrastructure, she said, assuming that this will improve the quality of life of the population.
