The measure stems from the Fertiliser Supply Plan for the 2020/2021 Agricultural Year, in response to the economic and financial impact of covid-19 on businesses, households and the informal sector of the economy which was this Monday approved by the Economic Commission of the Council of Ministers.

In this context, the executive established a line of funding from the National Development Fund for the purchase of fertilisers, and seven proposals out of a total of 11 applications were approved by the Credit Committee of Banco de Desenvolvimento Angola.

These will benefit from funding of 40 million dollars for the acquisition of 75,000 tons of fertiliser that should be in the country between August and September.

The Transition Strategy from the Informal Economy to the Formal Economy and the respective action plan for 2020-2022 were also approved at Monday's meeting.

The document takes into account the internal diagnosis made, as well as the internal and international recommendations of the International Labour Organisation and the United Nations Agenda 2030.
