Government prepares code to gather tax benefits

The Government is going to prepare a code of tax exemptions and benefits that will allow “bringing together all these bonuses in one instrument,” announced the Minister of Finance, adding that this should be discussed by the executive by August.

:

“It is being prepared by the General Tax Administration [AGT] and we should start the debate at the beginning of August on a code of tax exemptions and benefits, which will seek to bring together in a single instrument the set of benefits that we want to give to the different economic agents ”, said the Minister of Finance during a lunch-conference organized by the Media Rumo group, in Luanda.

The minister considered that the situation of tax benefits is currently "dispersed in many laws", such as the Private Investment Law, the Micro and Small Business Act or the "law that is in parliament on insolvency and company recovery,".

"In order to try to combine all this in a single code and systematize, the General Tax Administration is working on this process and we should, very soon, have this instrument at our disposal", predicted the person in charge of Finance.

The statements were made during the minister's intervention at the “Lunch-Conference OGE 2020 R [Revised General State Budget 2020]”, which, according to the organization, brought together “a selected group of entrepreneurs and top managers in a wide debate on the main instrument of materialization of the Government's economic and social policy ”.

On the 15th, the parliament approved in general the OGE 2020 revised with the opposition abstaining.

The revised OGE 2020, estimated at 13.4 billion kwanzas, predicts a 4 percent deficit at 15 billion kwanzas from the previous proposal and with an average oil price of $ 33 a barrel.
