State has already invested more than 30 billion kwanzas with privatizations

Angola has already raised 31 billion kwanzas from the sale of assets under the privatization program, announced Finance Minister Vera Daves.

The minister presented the data during a Conference Lunch organized by Media Rumo and whose theme was “The Review of the State Budget 2020 and the Angolan Economy”.

"So far we have managed to earn 31 billion kwanzas, we have already sold 14 assets, four tenders have been launched and concluded, 150 direct jobs have been created and 320 indirect jobs have been created", said Vera Daves.

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Institute for the Management of Assets and State Participations (IGAPE) Patrício Vilar added that a cash inflow of US $ 200 million is expected by the end of the year.

In order to achieve this value, in addition to the 13 units in the Exclusive Economic Zone, which are currently “in the final stage of the competition” and may yield up to 40 million dollars, the “filet mignon” that includes entities in the financial sector such as Banco de Comércio e Industria (BCI), the insurance company ENSA, the participation in BAI and the participation of Sonangol in the bank Caixa Angola, which Patrício Vilar described as the “golden stars for this year”.

The Infotur hotel chain and two cement companies are also in the tender opening phase, added the head of IGAPE.

The Privatization Program (PROPRIV) launched in August 2019 provided for the sale of 195 public entities by 2022, in the oil, telecommunications, banking, industry or agriculture sectors.
