According to a statement from the Ministry of Tourism, to which VerAngola had access, the visit will last until next Monday.
"A familiarization trip (FAM Trip) will bring a group of tour operators and travel agents from Germany to our country between June 4th and 9th this year," the note says.
According to the Ministry, familiarization trips or FAM Trips "are trips included in programs to promote a tourist destination, with the aim of allowing journalists, travel agencies or other professionals in the tourism sector to get to know, first-hand, the tourism products and tourism potential of Angola".
Thus, during the visit, the group will visit four provinces of the country, namely Luanda, Huíla, Cuanza Norte and Malanje.
"This initiative will provide a comprehensive view of the diversity of our tourism offering, highlighting the diversity of natural landscapes, the cultural richness and the hospitality of our people," reads the statement.
According to the Ministry of Tourism, FAM Trip "is not just a tourist tour", as it also aims to "establish direct contacts with the main players in the Angolan tourism market and identify business opportunities and partnerships; promote the exchange of experiences and the development of good practices; organize our tourist offer and create itineraries to promote Angola in the markets of Germany, Switzerland and Austria".
"With the implementation of this FAM Trip, the promotion of Angolan tourism resources and the products associated with them will be done more effectively, because it will be based on the experience of the tour operators who have found in situ the itineraries that they intend to promote and market in their respective markets", adds the statement.
As part of FAM Trip, a workshop will be held this Thursday in Luanda for managers of travel agencies, tourist guides and other stakeholders in the hospitality chain.
"This FAM Trip represents a strategic initiative by the Ministry of Tourism to promote Angola as a viable tourist destination, suitable for sale in the main tourist-sending markets worldwide," the ministry also points out.
