However, the announcements didn't stop there. On the occasion, the holder of the Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Social Communication portfolio also announced the launch of the Conecta Project, which will enable "direct connectivity", through the Internet, "with new and diverse locations in the country", says a statement of the Government, to which VerAngola had access.

"These are the provinces of Uíge, Grutas do Zenzo, Zaire, Madimba, Cuanza Norte, Serca, Bengo, Bula Tumba, Cuanza Sul, Quirimbo, Cunene, Kukua, joining to the provinces of Bié, Lunda Norte, Lunda Sul, Cuando Cubango and Moxico", the note reads.

According to the minister, these are areas that previously did not have any telecommunications service.

It should be noted that the Conecta Project concerns an "initiative that will extend to Lusaka, capital of Zambia, through transmission from the Angosat-2 satellite".

Furthermore, in his intervention, the head of the Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Social Communication department also highlighted the "impact of technological investments in the social sector, including the digitalization of public services and the development of infrastructures, such as the national network terrestrial fiber optic cables, international submarine fiber optic cables, national space program and microwave networks".

Mário Augusto Oliveira also highlighted the fact that the country currently has "robust telecommunications infrastructure", which is supported by "high-quality technical and scientific professionals who consolidate its leadership on the continent".

Angotic 2024 kicked off this Thursday, whose event was opened by the President of the Republic, João Lourenço. Running until June 15th, the event is expected to involve 128 startups, 29 national moderators, 74 international speakers and approximately 15 thousand visitors, including students, businesspeople, academics, as well as technology enthusiasts.

According to the statement, the event has an "entrepreneurship support center, training sessions on satellites and topics related to the creation and legalization of companies, and finance for youth entrepreneurship".
