According to a statement from the provincial government of Namibe, to which VerAngola had access, it was last weekend that Francisco Alegre Duarte took his board and entered the waters of Namibe to 'catch' waves.
"Portugal's ambassador to Angola, Francisco Alegre Duarte, is a self-confessed surfer. The waves that the Namibe sea provides led the Portuguese diplomat to choose, this weekend, the pearl province of tourism in Angola to practice surfing", the note reads.
However, the Portuguese diplomat was not alone in his sporting practice. On his tourist journey to the aforementioned province, the ambassador was accompanied by a group of surfers, including Angolan and national champion Samuel Januário "Quintino".
On the occasion, speaking to the local press, Francisco Alegre Duarte took the opportunity to highlight the beauty of the '3 irmãos' beach, "where the sea waves allow surfing lovers to challenge themselves, a sport and tourist product that he considers important for the economy", reads the statement.
