In a statement, to which VerAngola had access, the Ministry of Finance, through the Gaming Supervision Institute, announced Mota Tavares & Jogo S.A as the winner of the competition, in which a total of five entities were in the running: Primeira Aposta (SU), LiveBet Games S.A, CTC Investment Group, Lotarias Kitady S.A and Mota Tavares & Jogo S.A.
The winner was chosen after "a process of thorough analysis and evaluation of the proposal documents presented".
According to the statement, suitability, financial capacity and technical experience in operating social games were the requirements that formed the basis of the evaluation and analysis of the proposals presented, and "the best proposal, which complies with the public interest, was defined based on in the objectivity criteria set out in the Competition Program and in the Tender Specifications".
Thus, after a "thorough analysis, the evaluation committee concluded that Mota Tavares & Jogo's proposal responded satisfactorily to the requirements of the procedural documents, as well as to the interests of the Angolan State, aiming to obtain resources to satisfy needs collective social groups".
The Gaming Supervision Institute hopes that, "in a short space of time", the winning entity will be able to start its activity and "provide highly relevant services to the Angolan population"
It should be noted that the competitive procedure chosen was a public competition, having been opened in June last year and with an application period between July and November 2023. The phase that followed was the assessment and evaluation of applications and technical and financial proposals, "including clarifications arising from the filing of complaints and appeals", taking place between November 22nd of last year and April 18th of this year.
