This request led to the removal of the sixth point from the agenda of the National Assembly plenary, which provided for the discussion and vote on the draft resolution that changes the composition of the CNE.
Speaking to the Lusa agency, the secretary general of the PRS, Rui Malopa Miguel, said that the criterion chosen for the attribution of PRS and FNLA representatives in the CNE was the constitution of the mixed group, which goes against "the fundamental element", which it is "the result each party obtained in the last general election".
"So we found it convenient that we should dissolve the mixed group", said the deputy, highlighting that, for this reason, the item ended up being removed from the agenda.
According to Rui Malopa Miguel, in the coming days the matter will be reconsidered, "in other words, the leaders will have to sit down once again to find a consensus on the composition of the CNE".
A resolution approved in May in this area assigned nine commissioners to the Popular Movement for the Liberation of Angola (MPLA), five to the National Union for the Total Independence of Angola (UNITA) and one commissioner each to the Humanist Party of Angola (PHA) and the PRS/FNLA mixed parliamentary group.
Rui Malopa Miguel reiterated that the affectation must be based on the results that each party obtained in the last elections, in which the PRS obtained around 74,000 votes, placing in third place, and the FNLA with just under 60,000 votes, in fourth place.
"Each of the parties should have a representative in the various CNE bodies, from the municipal commission to the national commission," he declared.
