According to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to which VerAngola had access, the instrument was signed in Belgrade (capital of Serbia) by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Téte António, and the Minister of Education of Serbia, Slavica Djukic Dejanovic.
The objective of the document now signed is the "reciprocal recognition of educational qualifications, titles and academic diplomas acquired" in both countries in order to allow holders "access to continued training and the exercise of professional activity in the States Parties, granting academic rights and professionals in accordance with the laws applicable in these two countries".
According to the statement, this document is valid for five years, the period of which is "automatically renewable for an equal and successive period", unless one of the parties expresses the "intention to denounce it, and must do so in writing, with at least ninety days in advance, through diplomatic channels".
