According to a brief note from the Presidency of the Republic, to which VerAngola had access, from the Serbian counterpart, the head of State heard that country's "strong interest in cooperating with Angola in the most diverse areas".

In the conversation held between the two leaders, "burning issues of current international politics" were also discussed.

It should be remembered that the two countries signed bilateral relations in 1977, which are currently cordial and have been solidified with the signing of more than 10 agreements, as well as visits by several national delegations to Serbia between 2020 and last year, writes the Angop.

Also this Thursday, in addition to having a telephone conversation with his Serbian counterpart, João Lourenço also congratulated the elected president of Chad.

"The President of the Republic, João Lourenço, congratulated Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno on his recent victory in the elections for the position of President of the Republic of Chad", reads another note from the Presidency, to which VerAngola had access.

In the message of congratulations addressed to his counterpart from Chad, the President of the Republic considered that the result of the election is "recognition that the actions he developed as President of the Transitional Military Council of the Republic of Chad revealed his high qualities as an always committed leader in achieving the great objectives of progress, well-being and prosperity in Chad".

"On this occasion, I would like to express to you the desire that the Republic of Angola and the Republic of Chad continue to maintain the positive dialogue that has been established between our governments, aiming to strengthen existing cooperation relations, whether bilaterally or at a multilateral level, within the scope of ECCAS, to boost the development of our respective nations", said João Lourenço.
