According to the president of the Teachers' Union (Sinprof), teachers are not prepared to support yet another salary delay, which has been registered since last February and which was further extended in May, causing various constraints to the class.
"Teachers from Cabinda to Cunene are not prepared to support yet another salary delay, so they appeal to the Angolan executive, mainly the economic team, in the sense that there are no salary delays in the month of June", said Guilherme Silva.
The union leader recalls that the final quarterly exams started today and run until June 30th and in the first week of July the written exams start and regrets that teachers do not have transport allowance to get to school.
"They withdraw from their meager salary to pay the taxi, if there is a salary delay in June, the responsibility will be assigned to the executive when the teachers cannot go to school due to lack of money to pay the taxi", he said.
To parents and guardians, he asked them to "also look at this as a relevant matter".
"We all echo the executive's economic team, here the Ministry of Finance, to pay teachers' salaries for the month of June on time", he stressed.
Because, "if this is not the case, we will have a loss in terms of exams", stressed Guilherme Silva, urging the executive to inform the company "if in fact the executive is in technical bankruptcy".
