Power cut makes it impossible to deliver FNLA candidacy for the elections

A power cut made it impossible this Wednesday for the National Front for the Liberation of Angola (FNLA) to formalize its candidacy for the general elections on 24 August, at the Constitutional Court (TC), the party president told Lusa.

:

"We didn't back down in the delivery of our candidacy, what happened is that in the vicinity where our offices are, there was a power cut and as we were already in the last phase of printing the lists, this power cut did not allow us to continue printing the lists", explained Nimi-a-Sibi.

According to the leader of the FNLA, who initially scheduled the delivery of his candidacy to the TC at 2 pm for Wednesday, the fact has already been reported to the judicial body and the delivery of signatures has been rescheduled for this Thursday.

"After a while the power was restored, we finished printing, but it was late, but tomorrow [Thursday] we will formalize our candidacy at 2 pm", assured the president of the "brothers" party.

Nimi-a-Sibi also said that his party will deposit around 17,000 signatures.
