ISEP confirms that UNITA leader completed electrical engineering training

The Instituto Superior de Engenharia do Porto (ISEP) confirmed that the president of UNITA, Adalberto da Costa Júnior, completed his training in electrical engineering at that educational establishment in 1995, obtaining a bachelor's degree.

In a note sent to the Lusa agency, the ISEP presidency clarifies that the leader of the National Union for the Total Independence of Angola (UNITA) obtained a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering at that institute, on December 13, 1995.

According to a source contacted by Lusa, at the time, the courses at that polytechnic institute only conferred a baccalaureate degree, which was completed with a final average of 11 values.

Last week, Sábado magazine reported that the president of UNITA, who appears as an electrical engineer, would not have completed his degree, either at ISEP or at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto.

UNITA deputy and jurist, Mihaela Webba, told Lusa at the time that she was concerned with "an attempt to lynch" the president of UNITA and that suspicions surrounding the degree originated in "ultimate interests".

UNITA, the main opposition party, which is running in the general elections scheduled for August 24, 2022, has always kept silent about the allegations.

The same did Adalberto da Costa Júnior, who visited the province of Cabinda at the weekend, to carry out a political journey whose main highlight was the Saturday rally, marking the opening of the electoral pre-campaign.
