Three thousand technicians will receive training by 2024

The director of human resources at the Ministry of Health, Baptista Monteiro, announced that the ministry will train, by 2024, a total of 3000 technicians across the country. This measure aims to expand specialized services in national health infrastructures.


Scheduled to start in September 2022, the specializations will focus on the fields of anesthesia and resuscitation, intensive care, surgical instrumentation, orthoprosthetics, nephrology, obstetrics, childcare and pediatrics, writes Angop.

Cited by Angop, the official informed that the trainings will take place in the provinces of Cabinda, Luanda, Huambo, Bié, Huíla, Malanje, Lunda Sul and Benguela, which will group the nearby provinces, forming poles at the national level.

The plan involves the expansion of this type of training at national level, through the design of centers that will bring together technicians from nearby provinces, he explained, quoted by Angop.

This is a plan aimed at strengthening the training program for specialists in primary health care as well as establishing training in the fields of diagnostic and therapeutic technicians.

The objective is to reach 6000 specialist nursing technicians by 2027, he informed, adding that civil servants between the ages of 25 and 45 who work in these fields in health infrastructure can apply, writes Angop.

The information was provided during the closing ceremony of the first specialization course in the fields of anesthesia and resuscitation, intensive care, surgical instrumentation, orthoprosthetics and obstetrics, in which 154 technicians received training over the course of two years at the Technical School of Health in Luanda.

On the occasion, Franco Mufinda, Secretary of State for Public Health, informed that the training of these professionals is part of an investment by the sector to train technicians who are working in the national health system, within the scope of an emerging training program for the sector to a higher quality service.
