Dario de Melo, who was born on December 2, 1935, has worked in various professions, including a teacher, journalist and writer, radio announcer, agricultural manager, school inspector, editor at the National Institute of Books and Records and an employee at the Ministry of Information. .
He has a vast body of work published in the field of children's literature, with more than 18 titles, among which "As Sete Vidas de um Gato" stands out, with which he won the PALOP'98 Portuguese Language Prize for Children's Literature.
